Do your soup bags contain plastic?

No — absolutely not. We know that when it comes to herbal soup, convenience matters but your health matters more.

When we were choosing our sachet material, we wanted something that aligned with our values: nature, safe and kind to the earth. That is why Benefit only use premium food grade PLA (polylactic acid) corn fiber which is a plant-based material.

PLA is made from renewable corn, not petroleum. It is 100% plastic-free, microplastic-free, heat-safe and biodegradable. Most importantly, it stays stable even during long simmering sessions without releasing microplastics or affecting the taste of your herbs.

Why do some soup bags use plastic and why you should avoid them?

There are many common tea bags and sachets are made with Nylon, PET (polyethylene terephthalate), Polypropylene and “paper” bags that contain plastic sealing fibers.
